Introduction
Real Self-Love heals your life – all of it – from the inside out. It releases us from egoic limitations and expectations, freeing us in ways we never imagined.
The kind of Self-Love I am writing about is an essential necessity when it comes to successfully navigating our current and future world.
The following principles evolve your relationship with your True Self. Get to know who you are, and watch everything else fall into place.
# 1 – Who You Are is Love.
It is fascinating that no matter how uniquely individualized each of the many Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) I’ve encountered in my studies are, one undeniable pervasive theme is nearly always present.
Pure Love is in and all around us and turns out to be who we are.
Most of us have had it backwards the whole time, perceiving that THIS human life is the real one, and the fact that we are made out of Love is the woo-woo one. For this reason, we haven’t paid much attention to who we are, but who we have become, out of balance with who we are.
“We are stardust . . . We’ve got to get ourselves back to the garden . . .” Crosby, Stills & Nash (Young) Woodstock - We Are Stardust
# 2 -- Everything You Need to Know or Understand is Within You
If you need to find out your bank balance, check your account, but the Real Work in human life is loving yourself and others. When you die, this will be the ONLY factor in your life review – how you treated others when you were human.
Near Death Experiencers CHANGE dramatically upon their return to life, because what happens when we cross over is no longer a mystery to them. They know that Love and healing with Love is most important.
Don’t wait to find out. A Divine being does not hold grudges. It there are “sticky spots” in your past, learn to look them in the eye, when they come up, and love what they taught you.
This is what it takes to see them dissolve. Ask the Love inside you, the Love you are to help you, be patient and pay attention that when the answer shows up, you’ll be made aware.
This is all you need aside from mirrors – reflections from others that point where you need to look inside yourself.
# 3 -- Trust, and Use # 1 And # 2 to fall in Love with Who You Are.
Realize you are safe; begin to trust the fact that there is no death, only life. Even though it “appears” to be the opposite here, attempt to contemplate the above three statements individually and together as often as you can -- on a nature walk, at a stop light, on a work-play break, dancing, being of service.
Love is always present if we are looking for it. Loving ourselves is simple. As you can see, it is already in place, waiting for our return to it.
Check out the samples below on how to work with # 1, # 2, and # 3 to love yourself more. 😊
1. All is well in your world; you’re flowing along, minding your own business, and when you least expect it, somebody says or does something that triggers you. You feel the heat rise, and your body get tense. We all know this one.
Perfect Opportunity: At the earliest possible moment, realize that this moment is what you have been waiting for. Someone has disrupted your peace, and without judging “the other or yourself,” find a quiet spot when you are able.
Decompress. Breathe and feel your body, whether shaky, tense, calm, or many other possibilities. Gently remind yourself that you are a Divine Loving Being and that no matter what, it’s okay. You’re okay.
These triggers serve to let us know about the pain we don’t know we’re in until something like this happens. Ask Love what the message might be? It won’t be judgmental if it’s coming from your True Self.
If the answer doesn’t come right away, relax. Be patient, and remind yourself that you will receive the clarity you need.
2. Who amongst us doesn’t trip up every so often? Our perfection is in the Love we are, not in our human personalities.
Example:
“I cannot believe I forgot my dentist’s appointment. I never do that. I feel so embarrassed.”
Practice forgiving and loving yourself when these kinds of things happen. If it’s a habit, that’s a different story, and you’ll have to look a little deeper within, maybe ask to be shown the cause of the pattern.
The more you practice remembering you are Divine and that everything is an inside job the more empowered you will feel. When you take care of you on the inside, your efforts will spill over to everyone you meet throughout the day.
3. Let’s say you have a major challenge out of your control, and you’re unsure where to turn, find a tranquil spot and light a candle, put on some music, and do whatever else helps you to relax. We do not think well when we are tense.
Remember # 1, i.e., Who You Are, and # 2, that the answer to this situation is within. Call on Love (Higher Power) to resolve it for you. For fun and to help shed some Light on your own behalf, imagine a few wild and crazy ways the situation resolves to lighten up your perspective. Watch and see how it your self-judgment dissolves.
Conclusion
Leaning into this simple path to greater Self-love increases opportunities for us to heal ourselves and our world with Love.
Practice loving yourself this week in the ways presented above or develop your Self Love gems. No matter what, share your findings in the comments.
May your week unfold brightly, and take great care,
Kaye
I'm enjoying sitting with my dogs on a quiet Sunday. They relax me, and I feel love when I'm with them. Even when they're bad 😉
Being an avid student of A Course In Miracles, I find this article aligns very closely to it, so I like it very much! If we have been created by God, and God is Love; we must be Love! As to what we are doing here in a world of duality (love vs. hate, light vs. dark, etc.)...we need to examine that. Kaye, we are on the right path if we do! In order to fix something, first we need to know it is broken but not to include fear or panic. You do this very lovingly and wisely in your writing. Thank you.
